Naturally occurring boron is 80.20% boron 11(atomic mass 11.01 daltons) and 19.80% of some other isotope. What must the mass of the other isotope be in order to have an average atomic mass of 10.81 daltons?

    19.80% multiplied by X will end up as .198X
    Add your two results together, 8.83 + .198X, and you will end up with 9.028.

    .198X = 1.98

    X must equal 10 daltons.
